Sometimes Having a Mission Sucks

MISSIONDon’t get me wrong.  I love what we’re creating here at NeftTI.  I’m inspired by the transformation that I see in people like you who take our training programs and allow us to support you in stretching toward your potential. I am thrilled that our team at NeftTI has just expanded again – two new Associate Mentors to serve you better!

I am 100% in alignment with our mission to train and support individuals and professionals in the safe and effective use of EFT and to establish EFT as a standard and accepted practice in all human service professions.  Absolutely.  Without a doubt.

But … sometimes having a Mission sucks. Why?

Because having a Mission demands commitment.  And staying committed is hard. It’s just hard. Taking the required Actions takes effort.  And tapping … and more effort … and more tapping … and more action.  And that’s not always convenient.  It hasn’t been convenient this past weekend.

I wish it was easier.

It’s was the May long weekend.  It was a tiny bit warm and finally the sun was shining just a smidge.  And I spent over 16 hours this weekend in the Scugog Library writing my final essay exams in the hopes of being accredited as an AAMET International EFT Master Trainer of Trainers.  At least the library sells coffee.

Why?  I mean why write the Train the Trainer exam – not why does the library sell coffee.

Because the demand for EFT training is growing and more highly credible, professional quality trainers are required.  It’s good news!

But …sometimes having a mission sucks!  It was hard this weekend to balance family and friends with writing 27 pages of, hopefully inspired, essay answers.

“NeftTI’s mission is to train and inspire the use of EFT for personal, professional and corporate development.”  Sounds easy when I just type it.  But it has taken me a full year of hard work and facing the fear and taking action any way to be able to make that statement that clearly and specifically.  It has required time and money for coaching and mentoring and a couple of boxes of Kleenex along the way too.

Sometimes having a Mission sucks.  Because it requires so much of us. It requires us to be so much more than we are comfortable being.  It requires us to stretch for the stars.  Play a bigger game.  And that’s a good thing.  We benefit, our families benefit and our world benefits. I wouldn’t have it any other way.

How about you?  I really hope you have a meaningful mission.  I really hope you are committed to it.  Taking Action toward it.  Please don’t let it be just a dream.  You deserve to be happily uncomfortable.

Please let us know how we can support you in playing your bigger game.

With love,
Nancy

PS:  By the way, would you mind sending a few ‘happy thoughts’ to the AAMET International Accreditation panel?
