I thoroughly enjoyed a recent Tedx talk given by Professor of Mathematics, Dr. Katie Nall, on her experience for how EFT quells her students’ math anxiety, allowing them to improve their academic performance and their self-esteem. On the surface the video is about mathematics – but it’s applicable to whatever issue is creating anxiety for you or a client. And she has an infectious enthusiasm for her subject that is uplifting all by itself!
There are 3 great reasons that explain my enthusiasm for this short video:
I’m a Math person through and through.
I started teaching arithmetic to my friends when I was 4 years old, studied Math in university and taught it in high school, college and university. So, I am intimately acquainted with every form of ‘I hate Math’ and ‘I can’t do Math’ – and all the heartbreaking decisions that students make to avoid their math anxiety and limit their future possibilities.
I’m an EFT person through and through.
I started teaching EFT twenty years ago and not a day goes by that I’m not rejoicing at some relief of suffering that EFT has facilitated, quite often my own.
Whether the anxiety is clinical or situational, whether it’s a phobia or an addiction, it’s a joy to watch EFT open possibilities for greater peace and freedom.
I love Dr. Nall’s comment, “Study tips aren’t going to help a student who is crying and throwing up in my office due to math anxiety”. So well said.
EFT offers individuals, coaches and clinicians a way to go beyond ‘just talking’ and help their clients manage anxiety right in the moment. Truly empowering.
Having a respected academic sharing basic EFT in a Tedx talk with a highly responsive audience is indicative of how quickly EFT is evolving in its acceptance. What was just a grass roots movement only 10 years ago is now attracting serious attention from organizations, including the health and the educational systems.
They are understanding that EFT offers a revolutionary way for cost effective stress management that is done in real time, integrated into life right in the moment.
Consequently demand for coaches and clinicians, educators and health professionals who are professionally trained in EFT is escalating rapidly!
If you are already one of those professionals or you are called to serve in that way – let’s chat. The world needs you!
EFT for Peak Performance
Dr. Nall’s discussion is about EFT to improve student performance in mathematics. That’s only one example of using EFT for peak performance.
As you listen, think of all the other areas that would fall under the umbrella of peak performance;
- artistic performance,
- academic performance,
- sports performance,
- business performance.
In fact, any area where there is a gap between our current experience and our desired experience could be seen as a ‘performance issue’. EFT can be used to resolve whatever is creating that gap.
So that would include issues around health, weight, relationships, money. What if every issue is a ‘peak performance issue’!
